The Zonta Club of New York has had a special place in the history of Zonta International.  Most importantly, it exists in the same city as the United Nations, a longtime partner of Zonta International  to improve the status of women around the world.  Members of the Zonta Club of New York have had a major role in United Nations activities and have provided more than one Zonta UN representative. The club has also sponsored a UN dinner each year during the UN   Commission on the Status of Women. The New York Club was also the host club of the 2004 Zonta International Convention.
